The Raw Tracks
In this session I want to present a before and after demonstration. I want you to hear how this song sounded when I first loaded the raw tracks into the DAW.
As you can hear in the following audio example, even though these tracks were well recorded, they still needs to be mixed to bring out the hidden gems in this song. Notice the muddy low, mid-range frequencies which is caused by a combination of the guitars and bass fighting for space in the same frequency range. The most obvious aspects of this example is the absence of the drums. To make this example I kept all tracks at the same volume level and just levered every fader evenly so the output didn’t clip and distort.
