My wife and I thought it would be good to shoot a music video to project at our wedding reception. It was a hit! We had no budget so we enlisted her cousin Jonathan Maran for camera work. We planned out the scenes. Some were my ideas and some hers. Overall it shows a pretty good example of our relationship together. We had very little time to produce the video as the wedding date was coming fast.
We used 2 living rooms, local tennis court, local park and downtown Walnut Creek for locations. There are a few shots that we just didn’t have time for. As I was cutting I kept hitting a wall where I had no more footage. I was still making final touches the day before and was very nervous handing a DJ the final DVD. I had no time to even talk to the DJ beforehand. They had a bit of trouble at first because his projector was set to 4:3 stretched mode but luckily he could tell it wasn’t right and fixed it.
There was a change in the song only a few days before shooting the lip sync scenes. I don’t know Hindi and it shows. But that’s the funny part and the audience went crazy as I led the song.
This video was shot at 23.98psf and edited in Final Cut Pro. I used my own softbox light for interior shots.
