What better way to practice video/sound editing and motion graphics than creating your own take on a movie trailer. I was in luck by having access to all audio tracks and high quality video for these tests. Unfortunately, the older videos were from digi-beta and therefore SD.
Pirates of The Caribbean:
While working at Google I needed to make a test video for our transcoder to make sure each code push would output as good or better quality and not break anything. I made this with 5.1 AC3 audio and output around 20 different mezzanine video/audio possibilities to emulate what our content providers would send us. I thought using the “In a world” voice would be funny. I made sure to use scenes with smoke, fog and explosions to help us gage how the transcoders handle these difficult compressions.
